Christopher Weiss, an educator for over 23 years, has been the principal of Riverside School in Greenwich, Connnecticut for the past 5 years. The K-5 elementary school has been named a "School of Distinction" by the Connecticut State Department of Education and is considered a top school in the state. Riverside School has implemented a 4 year plan focused on the theme of "Innovation", developing a school-wide Genius Hour (self-directed student projects) program, building an Innovation Space, co-hosting a yearly S.T.E.M. Fair, and recently taking part in the Global Cardboard Challenge with a two day school-wide cardboard challenge to kick off to the Genius Hour program.
