Flickr Photo Stream

Andrew Mead, Principal, Mitchell Middle School, Mitchell, MB

"I share the pics I take to Instagram and Twitter (@mmshanover). They also go to Flickr (account name is: mmshsd). The flickr photo stream is on our website (http://mms.hsd.ca/ ). I have a TV set up near the front of our school and the flickr photos are streamed to the TV to as a screen saver through an Apple TV. I'll use the photos in monthly newsletters and a weekly thing I email home to parents. I may, at the end of the year, create books for those parents/students who want them of the year in review (sort of like a yearbook as this school does't have one - I'm new to this school this year). I use them to show parents/students/community what learning looks like at school. Also to show off the great things that happen everyday and how we use tech. It's important to me that we control the story of the school. And to model how to use social media with our kids. I use the app If This Than That (now called IFTTT) to post to multiple spots at once."
